Coaches Certification
Description: All coaches of youth sports 16 years of age and above are required to complete certification. As a local chapter of the New Jersey Youth Sports Association, the Recreation Commission mandates that all recreational coaches be certified. The certification program is presented through a training class which uses video tapes and is held prior to the start of each sport season. There is no clinic fee for current coaches in any Wood-Ridge Recreation program.

Instructions for Fingerprinting for Wood-Ridge Volunteer Coaches
Please note: There is a $26.25 due at the time of fingerprinting. This will generate a credit that you can use on any future recreation sponsored sport registrations within the Borough of Wood Ridge.
Step #1- Logon/Go to www.instantverificationinc.com
Step #2 – Click on Borough of Wood-Ridge under Client Requests on the right side
Step #3 – Click Universal Volunteer Fingerprint Form and Print it now.
Step #4 – Fill out the Form. In the field at the top of the Form asking for Contributor’s Case #, write in BO6004. Complete the rest of the form with your personal information.
Step #5 – After completing the form, click Fingerprinting Instructions. Go directly to Item #4 under Electronic Fingerprint Instructions and Click Click here to go to MorphoTrak web site.
Step #6 – Follow the instructions for New Applicants and make your appointment. Please note: All of the information you will require to make your appointment can be found on the Universal Volunteer Fingerprint Form that you have already completed. The nearest location is in Paramus. (Other locations are listed by clicking the field on their page.). The Paramus office is at 299 Forest Avenue, 1st Floor, Suite B – Operating Hours are:
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm
Tuesday from 12 Noon to 8:00pm, the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month from 9:00am to 5:00pm Note: once that you have been fingerprinted, you will receive a PCN #.
Step #7 – Get fingerprinted. You MUST have your Universal Fingerprint Form with you when you go to your fingerprinting appointment. If you do not have your form, they will not fingerprint you. You will lose both your appointment and your deposit. You will not move on to Step #8 until after you have been fingerprinted.
Step #8 -When you were finger printed, you received a PCN# . At this time, it is important that you please return to www.instantverificationinc.com and register with Instant Verification. Again, Click on Borough of Wood-Ridge and Click on Fingerprinting Instructions. Fill out the Instant Verification Info Form on the left, as well as the Sagem Morpho PCN# Form below it. Make sure that you submit both. Please note: In the field marked Township Association, use the drop down menu by clicking on the right arrow and select Borough of Wood Ridge (BO6004).
Step #9 – Instant Verification will receive the results of your background check in approximately 10 days. You will only be contacted by if you have not been cleared to coach. If this occurs, please refer to Borough of Wood Ridge Ordinance #2009-22. You can find a copy of this ordinance at www.njwoodridge.org.
